Raising a Puppy!

Raising a puppy is hard work, and I think that's something people often underestimate!

Here are some tips to training and dealing with some of the most common puppy behaviors!

Puppies are adorable, fun, and full of love, but they're also a lot of responsibility. There will be accidents in the house, sleepless nights, chewed-up belongings, barking, biting, jumping, and moments when you question what you've gotten yourself into!

Puppies don't come knowing how to behave. They have to be taught everything, from potty training and basic manners to learning how to settle, be independent, and make good decisions.

One of the biggest things to remember is that puppies are living beings, not robots. They have their own personalities, emotions, fears, and developmental stages. Progress isn't always linear. Some days they'll do everything right, and the next day it might feel like they've forgotten everything you've taught them.

Raising a well-rounded dog takes patience, consistency, structure, and a lot of time. It's not just about providing enough exercise or teaching a puppy to sit. It's about building confidence, creating healthy habits, setting boundaries, and teaching them how to navigate the world.

Even a puppy with wonderful genetics, excellent early socialization, and a great foundation still needs continued guidance once they go home. A breeder can give a puppy a great start, but the work doesn't stop there.
